I am a filmmaker - writer/director/editor/producer.
My 60 minute film BIRTHRIGHT played the festival circuit screening at the Mannheim Film Festival in Germany, the AFI/LA Film Festival, Seattle Film Festival, and winning awards at the Athens Film Festival(First Place), the Houston Film Festival(Silver), the NW Film and Video Festival(Honorable Mention), and the Dallas Film Festival(Finalist). Birthright has screened at the AFI in Washington, DC. Independent Cinema Series; PBS: Midnight Theater, Films from the Northwest; and Seattle Cine-Visions, Seattle Cable Channel for the Arts. My short, FALLEN DREAMS, won Judges Choice at the 18th Annual Humboldt Film Festival, screened at the 23rd Ann Arbor Festival and as the Chicago Experimental Film Festival. A member of the Director’s Guild of America since 1987, I worked as an assistant director with a number of immensely talented directors including Bernardo Bertolucci, David Lynch, David Mamet, Renny Harlin, Martha Coolidge, Wayne Wang, Robert M. Young, Ulu Grosbard, and Michael Hoffman, to name a few. I have been awarded fellowships from Seattle Arts, Artist’s Trust, Washington State, and from the NEA through the Western States Regional Media Arts Fellowship.
