Mylissa Fitzsimmons
The Long Run
Mylissa grew up in Utah and then moved to the Pacific Northwest as a teenager. In her 20s, she lived in Seattle, where she documented the music scene, before relocating to Los Angeles.
She is a writer, producer, and director known for award-winning short films like That Party That One Night and Who Decides. She has won the Sun Valley Film Festival short film lab and is an alumni of The Reykjavik Talent Lab in Iceland. She was a Screencraft finalist for short story writing and short films. A top 3 finalist for the Lynn Shelton “of a certain age” grant and a Ryan Murphy Half Initiative mentee. In 2024 she was a chosen filmmaker to be part of the BendFilm: Basecamp Fellowship where she was awarded The Horizon Award.
In 2021, she released her debut feature film, Everything in The End, which was filmed in Iceland on a micro budget. The film was shown in over 40 festivals, winning multiple awards such as Best Narrative Feature, Best Directing, Best Debut, and Best Cinematography. The Long Run is her second feature film.
