Don’t Miss Out On These Important Conversations!

PTFF Focus events are collaborations between the Film Festival organization and another local nonprofit. Together we identify films that amplify the other nonprofits’ mission and bring in professionals and those living the experience that these films are exploring to host a conversation.

The Balcony Theatre is located in the PTFF Office - at the top floor of the Baker Block Building, with views of the Bay, the Cascades, the Olympics, and Mount Rainier. Come enjoy the ambiance, the opportunity to learn, and the connections you’ll make with people crafting change!

Documentary Workshop with Kirsten Johnson

PTFF partner, the Seattle Documentary Association, is hosting a documentary workshop with award-winning filmmaker Kirsten Johnson. Her most recent film Dick Johnson is Dead premiered at Sundance 2020, where it won the Jury Prize for Innovation in Nonfiction Storytelling. Other instructors include Alison Byrne Fields, David Richards, Adam Brown, Michal Pietrzyk, and Peggy Case. All the events will be at the Tasveer Film Center on Rainier Ave in Seattle.

The best news ever - it’s Pay What Can!

We’ve been thrilled to partner with SEADOC over the last few years in hosting a Documentary Filmmakers Reception during the Festival. Check out this dynamic group and their line up of events for both filmmakers and documentary enthusiasts!

In other movie news…

Have you found your way to the Starlight Room’s new website? As this very special place makes its transition from first run films to more cults, classics, and favorites.
We’re thrilled our most important partner, The Rose Theatre and Starlight Room, now has more flexibility to bring us an even wider variety of movie experiences.

Port Gamble Theater

The Starlight Room is not the only one getting into the classics game. Port Gamble Theater enjoyed hosting the PTFF Film Pop-Up two years ago so much that they then raised the money to install permanent projection equipment in this historic theatre. Located just across the Hood Canal Bridge, this gem of a space will bring special resonance to their line-up of “Vintage Cinema”.

Our volunteer community now has its own newsletter - made up of over 500 folks and growing! It’s a space to celebrate film, learn more about your fellow volunteers, and get a peek at what opportunities are coming this spring and summer. If you’re curious what we’re getting into, create a volunteer account below to receive updates and join us.
