Anika Yuzak
Some Girl
Anika Yuzak is a Vancouver-based artist and filmmaker whose work explores power, agency, and intimate human relationships. Over the past two decades, she has built a multifaceted career in film and visual art, beginning in costume set and prep departments and contributing to feature films and episodic television as a member of IATSE. She holds a Bachelor of Media Arts from Emily Carr University and a Fashion Arts Diploma from Vancouver Community College. Before transitioning into filmmaking, she worked in fashion production and was actively engaged in the visual arts, bringing a strong visual sensibility to her narrative work. Her short film Devoted screened at festivals including the Vancouver Short Film Festival and the Oregon Film Festival. She has received support from the British Columbia Arts Council and the Canada Council for the Arts for her recent short film Some Girl. Anika is currently developing her first feature film, Trust Issues.
