Vickie Curtis made her directorial debut with feature film Comparsa at Sheffield Docfest, where the film won the Jury Award for best first feature and has gone on to win over 20 awards around the world. She is also the Emmy-winning writer of Netflix Originals The Social Dilemma and Chasing Coral. Her work explores the systemic roots of social and ecological crises, and the artists, activists, and everyday folks working to rebuild. Vickie’s storytelling spans writing work for award-winning documentaries including Searching For Amani (Tribeca), We Are Guardians (HotDocs, Netflix LatAm), Greener Pastures (POV), and Unearth (DOCNYC, Documentary+). After years of studying theatre and education, she brings a collaborative ethos to each project.
