A dark comedy thriller and the 2021 Academy Award winner for Best Original Screenplay. Dove House representatives will lead a discussion following the film.

Film description: Written, directed, and co-produced by Emerald Fennell in her feature directorial debut. The story follows a troubled young woman haunted by a traumatic past as she navigates balancing forgiveness with vengeance. Dark comedy, thriller, crime drama, and feminist critique blend into a highly engaging and timely takedown of a dominant culture that too often emphasizes women as victims.

A group of locally-based filmmakers have launched a CROWDFUNDING CAMPAIGN inviting post-production funds for the local documentary Damian & Michael running now through April 18th at 10am. Hooray for local filmmakers!

The production team includes:

Gabe Van Lelyveld, Director, PTFF alum and member of the JeffCo Filmmaker Collective
Jessica Plumb, Story Consultant, PTFF alum and member of the JeffCo Filmmaker Collective
Olivier Matthon, Co-writer & Editor, based on Olympic Peninsula

This extremely intimate documentary aims to change the way audiences view those struggling with addiction and homelessness. Relationship-centered and radically compassionate, it is a story of perseverance and the will to find enduring happiness despite one's circumstances.

for a five-part docuseries.

The key requirement is that the filmmaker needs to be part of the community they are documenting (i.e., Indigenous stories told by Indigenous filmmakers, Latinx stories told by Latinx filmmakers, etc.)

SHORT SCREENPLAY COMPETITION

Deadline coming soon for Local Short Films

Seeking Local Short Films. While PTFF presents films from around the globe, we also have the goal of supporting local filmmakers. We encourage short film submissions from Puget Sound Islands and Olympic Peninsula-based filmmakers. PTFF will feature the chosen films in the festival program and in other marketing materials. As an additional support, submission fees have been reduced for this category.

Deadline for Submission: April 19, 2024
