Festival Film Spotlight-
Feature Narrative - Mortician
An Iranian mortician in Canada, tasked by the Iranian government to wash the bodies of recently deceased ex-pats, has his world turned upside down when he receives an unusual request from a dissident singer in hiding.
Our PTFF Reviewer, Paul, says: “Surprise follows surprise in this quiet, careful film; our hero, for instance, turns out not to be the kind of mortician that most of us are accustomed to. But maybe the biggest surprise of all is that a movie about loneliness, exile, devotion, fear, and betrayal, shot with a handful of actors on a single iPhone, manages to be both defiant and, at times, even funny.”

Festival Sponsor Spotlight-
Velo Cats Collective
Velo Cats owners Liz Arp, Jonathan Arp and Gabe Quintanilla
1. Velo Cats Collective supports the Port Townsend Film Festival because it provides the community with an amazing opportunity to screen awesome and inspiring films and to learn more about them directly from the filmmakers.
2. One film that really touched us was Michael and Damian, a documentary by Gabe Van Lelyveld, because of the hyper-local insights it provides regarding unhoused people in our community and the way it covers the topic with dignity, respect, and compassion. We loved it so much that we offered a special screening at our bike shop a few months after the film festival.
