Tracing Los Lobos' rise from the East L.A. streets to global acclaim, the film offers unprecedented access to their archives and an intimate look at the brotherhood driving their journey. Los Lobos: Native Sons is co-directed by filmmakers Doug Blush (director of Of Two Minds, Beyond Laughter and Tears: A Journey of Hope, Rock Camp) & Piero F. Giunti (making his first feature film).

Los Lobos will join co-directors Doug Blush and Piero F. Giunti for a Q&A following the Sunday, Sept 27, 4:30pm screening of Native Sons at the American Legion.

Remembering Katherine Baril

The Port Townsend Film Festival community was saddened to learn of the passing of longtime volunteer reviewer Katherine Baril on June 19.

Katherine was a thoughtful and engaged member of our volunteer film review team for many years. She believed deeply in the power of film to spark conversation, inspire young people, broaden perspectives, and help us better understand one another. She brought that same curiosity and generosity to every film she reviewed and every discussion she joined.

"Beyond PTFF, I knew Katherine as a passionate advocate for underserved and marginalized communities, a supporter of Indigenous culture, and someone devoted to making Port Townsend and our surrounding communities more welcoming and inclusive. Her compassion, conviction, and love of storytelling will leave a lasting impression on all who knew her."

- Christy Spencer, Program Director

“Having served as the executive of Western Washington University’s Extension program for decades, Katherine led countless initiatives that have made our community stronger, more equitable, and more sustainable. After her retirement she continued to lead as she lifted up the next generation of leaders to follow in her powerful wake. She leaves a great legacy ”

- Janine Boire,

We are grateful for Katherine's many years of service to PTFF and extend our heartfelt condolences to her family and friends.

Thank You!!
