Let’s Talk Festival Pass

Over half of last year's film screenings and Forum events sold out. The sooner you make your ticket reservations, the more likely you are to get to see the films you want.

At PTFF, we honor those who make it possible for those with limited means to attend the festival by giving Patron Pass holders first access to ticket reservations. (August 17)

From there, the more screenings/events you're planning to attend, the earlier you can select the films you want to see.

  • Festival Pass  - can select films starting Aug 31

  • 6 Pass and 3 Pass - can select films starting Sept 8

But that's just the first reason to choose a Festival Pass!

A Festival Pass Includes:

  • All in-person film & forum events, Sept 24-27‍ ‍🎦

  • Preferred ticket scheduling starting Aug 31 🎟️

  • Invitation to the Awards Party at Vintage by Port Townsend Vineyards🏆

  • Entry to the Festival Lounge 🛋️

  • PTFF Virtual, Sept 28 - Oct 4 🍿

Enjoy preferred scheduling for all the screenings and events during the in-person festival Sept 24-27. Then, with your Virtual festival access Sept 28 - Oct 4, watch available films you weren’t able to attend.

Are you a Los Lobos fan and would like to see the Sunday Sept 27 4:30 screening of Native Sons at the Legion? Los Lobos and filmmakers will be presenting a post-screening Q&A and we expect this event to sell out quickly. Consider the Festival Pass to provide preferred access to ticket reservations.

And now, a word from…

Festival Sponsor
Michelle Sandoval

Agents of Good Roots

Michelle Sandoval with John Sayles and Maggie Renzi

PTFF: What is one of the most meaningful movies in your life? Why?

Michelle: “I always stop and watch To Kill a Mocking Bird. Who wouldn’t want Gregory Peck as their dad? And I love the relationship between Scout and Jem. I first saw it as a young child, and it was striking to me to see the realities of prejudice of all kinds, and the rigged justice system. Sadly, I’m not sure much has changed.”

PTFF: Why are you a sponsor of the Port Townsend Film Festival?

Michelle: “I believe in community building. I love seeing people in the street going to the various theatre locations talking about movies. Movies create a universal language we all can understand and learn from.”

Festival Hint: Want to talk more about the movies during the Festival? Look for the “Conversation Corner” at both on Taylor Street and at the Festival Lounge in the Cotton Building. Come by whenever you have a few minutes between films to meet friends old and new and discuss what you just discovered!

Festival Goers
Tina Flores-McCleese and Al McCleese

Al McCleese and Tina Flores McCleese

PTFF: What is one of your favorite films?

Tina: “Coco has got to be a favorite – Caught me by surprise how deep it would hit, seeing all of the images of my own family history represented beautifully (aesthetically and storytelling) – it moved me to tears.”

PTFF: What makes PTFF Special?

Tina: “We love all of the extras in the PT Film Festival!  Beyond carefully curating all of the offerings for the festival, to us the opportunity is to share the craft and inspire what could be.  Examples are bringing filmmakers into the community, in particular in the schools, to help visualize creativity and possibilities and engage us all in the many layers that go into creating in this medium. We can’t wait to see what’s in store this year!”

Pssst: Tina’s favorite might just be one of the free films on Taylor Street this year. The distributor restricts us from publicly advertising…but just between us newsletter subscribers, if you share her love of this animated triumph, you might want to mark your calendar for Sat, Sept 26, 7:30pm.

Host A Filmmaker

Ever wondered what it’s like to experience PTFF from the inside?

Each year, our visiting filmmakers, presenters, and special guests travel from around the world to share their stories with Port Townsend audiences. Many of the most meaningful Festival connections begin around a breakfast table, backyard conversation, or late-night chat after a screening.

We’re currently seeking Homestay Hosts for the September Festival (Sep 24-27) and occasional year-round guest visits. If you have a cottage, ADU, guest apartment, or even a spare room, you could play a direct role in welcoming artists to our community while experiencing the Festival from an entirely new perspective.

Hosting a filmmaker is one of the most unique and rewarding ways to be part of PTFF.

We’d love to continue the conversation with you!
