Frances Chewning
The Pic
Frances Chewning is an actor/writer and "The Pic" marks her second directorial piece. Previously, she wrote and co-directed the short film "The Glasses," which was an Official Selection at Palm Springs ShortFest and HollyShorts among others. She has acted in award-winning films that were official selections at Sundance, AFI Fest, and New York Film Festival. On stage, she's performed at Brooklyn Academy of Music, The Whitney Museum, American Repertory Theatre, HERE Arts Center (NYC), the Lark Theatre (NYC), and the Cavern Club Celebrity Theatre (LA). TV credits include Ryan Murphy's "Monsters" on Netflix and Hulu's "Welcome to Chippendale's." She has written and performed sketch & improv at UCB-LA, Comix (NYC; headliner), The Second City (LA), and The Clubhouse (LA). She holds an MFA in Acting from the Moscow Art Theatre School/A.R.T. Institute at Harvard University and a BA, cum laude, in Philosophy from Lawrence University.
